Big question, right? At Alpha we eat together, watch a short film about Jesus and talk about it. Nobody expects you to believe, agree or even speak up. Every question is welcome.

How it works
What does an Alpha evening look like?
Eat together
We sit down together at 6:00 pm. Food connects: the best and most honest conversations happen around the table.
Watch
Then we watch a short film about that evening's theme. Honest, down to earth and free of jargon.
Talk
In small groups you share what you think. No right or wrong answers, and no obligation to say anything at all.

You're curious
Maybe you don't know a single person who believes, or maybe you know plenty. You don't need to know or think anything to join.
You're looking for connection
Meet new people and have real conversations. New to Hardenberg? This is a lovely way to find your people.
Why we do this
Honestly? We hope you get to know Jesus
We're Christians. We believe God is real, that He loves you, and that Jesus makes all the difference in a person's life. We're not going to hide that. You'd notice anyway.
And at the same time, nobody is going to force you into anything. You're free to disagree, to doubt out loud, or to decide after three evenings that it isn't for you. That's genuinely fine. What we want is for everyone in Hardenberg to get one honest chance to think it through for themselves, over a good meal. And whether you decide anything, during the course or afterwards, is entirely up to you.

Hardly anyone walks into a church out of the blue. Almost everyone who comes to Alpha is there because somebody they trust asked them personally. So one message really can be enough.
And afterwards?
Alpha is a beginning, not an end point. If you'd like to go on, you can join an Alpha Connect group and carry on with the same people you got to know during Alpha. Or come along to a service at one of the churches in Hardenberg. But nothing is required, not even after the final evening.

Cooking, welcoming people, joining a small group or helping with the tech: there's plenty to do. You don't need any experience, we'll show you. Just drop us an email.
